85% of Ohio Counties Face Mental Health Shortages – HPIO Report
75 of 88 counties (including Cuyahoga) are mental health shortage areas, with only ~365 child/adolescent psychiatrists statewide (~1 per 7,000 kids) and 11 inpatient facilities. Barriers hit young children, privately insured families, and intensive needs hardest; over 5,600 kids treated for suspected suicide attempts in 2024.
